2012 Lent Growth Groups

Our small group study during Lent will be “40 Days in the Word: Love the Word, Learn the Word, Live the Word.” This is a study produced by the Saddleback Church and taught by Pastor Rick Warren. It was chosen from a host of studies by a team of people appointed by our Spiritual Formation Committee. As they examined different studies, prayed and talked, they discerned that God was leading our church to do this study. This is an excellent choice because there is always need to bring the Word of God into our lives. Our society and even the church is becoming biblically illiterate and this study gives us an opportunity to improve our Bible study and biblical literacy. By committing to small group during this six weeks we are also asking you to “fast” or “give up something” to draw closer to God. We will ask to you give up time, personal space and pride (we think at times we don’t need a group, God says that we do!) in order to grow in your connection with others and ultimately with God.
